Polestar Join Touchwood Shopping Centre

Swedish electric car maker Polestar has taken 5,100 sq ft of space at Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull, offering shoppers an immersive in-store experience.

The company, which describes Touchwood as a ‘pivotal retail destination’ has signed a 10-year lease which will also highlight Polestar’s cutting-edge technology.

This is the second key arrival at the West Midlands shopping centre and is part of the diversification strategy being implemented by Sovereign Centros in tandem with owners Ardent UK. Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer recently started trading from a 1,620 sq ft store within Touchwood’s Crescent Arcade.

Andrew Hilston, managing director at Ardent, said: “We are delighted to welcome Polestar to Touchwood. Polestar is an innovative industry leader and will bring an entirely new offering to our tenant line-up, in tandem with Tag Heuer.

“The next few months are an exciting time for Touchwood as it prepares to play a leading role in the Council’s ambitious growth plans, especially with the 2022 Commonwealth Games just round the corner, during which Solihull will host over half of the events.”
