PRIMARK UNVEILS 80,000 SQ FT UPSIZED SPACE AT METROCENTRE

The new 80,000 sq ft, two-level store has seen the addition of 14,100 sq ft on the ground floor, marking Primark’s thirteenth biggest location in the UK in terms of retail space. The departments have been rearranged and reinvigorated with refreshed fixtures and fittings to create a seamless shopping experience for visitors, with women’s lingerie, hosiery and nightwear now located alongside womenswear, accessories, and shoes on the ground level. The additional space on the ground floor is now also host to Primark’s extensive homeware section and features self-checkout tills, as well as standard manned tills, to enhance the customer journey through greater choice and speed of service.

The expansion underpins Primark’s position as a significant anchor within Metrocentre and highlights the centre’s continued approach to building best-in-class flagships across the destination. It also demonstrates the widespread commitment by leading retailers to be part of Metrocentre, following the recent upsizes of Zara and Frasers Group.

This news follows the latest announcement that Metrocentre has also welcomed a new store for GO Outdoors, which has opened a 20,000 sq ft space within the destination’s Blue Mall. The new store stocks an array of renowned outerwear brands, footwear, and camping equipment, as well as additional services such as boot and rucksack fitting.
